Title: Alternative Medicine
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock/John
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 4,650
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Fun, not profit!
Warnings: Explicit sex
Notes: This is the finally written and edited result of a [luminous] plot bunny that showed up while watching Baskerville at Sherlock Seattle and was frantically written down on an old bus schedule in the dark. Deciphering it was fun. This is thus dedicated to all the excellent people of Sherlock Seattle, especially the people who make it happen. It’s a little funny that a large social event inspired me to write a fic the working title of which was “angst and hand jobs.” It does what it says on the tin.
Summary: “We’re self-medicating anxiety and boredom.” “No, we’re not,” John says breathlessly. “That’s not it anymore.”

The first time it’s an accident.... )

Title: Dawn
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Molly Hooper/Sally Donovan
Rating: G
Word count: 221B
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Fun, not profit!
Warnings: None
Notes: Written for a challenge from the Antidiogenes chat to do a 221b ending with "bite." Also written in light of femslash February. And as procrastination on the sequel to This Machine Called Man. (Posted on AO3 a while ago, finally putting it here too.)
Summary: Molly tries to eat a sandwich. Sally wants to talk about science fiction.

Molly looks down at her sandwich.... )

Title: The Reverse Side of Fascination
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Harry Watson, Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, pre-Sherlock/John
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 5,175
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Fun, not profit!
Warnings: Alcoholism, somewhat creepy tattoos
Notes: Originally wrote this over a year ago, got distracted by robots, didn't finish it, have now decided it's done. Gotta post it before Harry shows up in canon and it gets jossed. :P Title from this Schopenhauer quote: “Boredom is just the reverse side of fascination: both depend on being outside rather than inside a situation, and one leads to the other.” Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] call_me_ishmael for the beta.
Summary: Harry Watson is used to not knowing why she does things. Inviting Sherlock Holmes out to lunch is still one of her more baffling whims, but it's also one of her best.

She doesn't normally answer calls from withheld phone numbers.... )

Title: This Machine Called Man
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock&John, ensemble
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 29,000
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Fun, not profit!
Warnings: canon-typical violence, gore, and bad decisions; brief discussion of hypothetical cannibalism, sex bots
Notes: Originally written and posted on the [livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc_fic kinkmeme, there titled Identification. Massively edited and expanded for [livejournal.com profile] robotbigbang. It will have two sequels, and if you read the fic on the meme you’re going to want to reread before you read the sequels. Thanks to beta [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre and britpicker [livejournal.com profile] rhuia, and to co-brainer, enabler, ninja-artist, and beta [livejournal.com profile] call_me_ishmael. Further notes, including abundant thanks, are to be found in the author’s notes.
Summary: London, 2081. John Watson, former army roboticist, has an expired licence and an illegal tri-wing screwdriver in his desk. Sherlock Holmes has fingerprints and a name, and in an office somewhere in Whitehall there are blueprints for the metal underneath his perfect, artificial skin.

Chapters: One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six | Seven

Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Fun, not profit!
Warnings: None
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] holmestice, Summer 2012, for [livejournal.com profile] igrockspock. Originally posted there. Many thanks to my excellent betas [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre and [livejournal.com profile] call_me_ishmael.
Summary: Sherlock and John on the longest day of the year, 2010-2014. A long-term, informal, dubiously scientific field experiment.

John is barely awake and he’s already sweating.... )

Title: The Quantum Mechanics of Lost Socks (and Other Unsolved Mysteries)
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock&John
Rating: PG
Word count: 3,000
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. For fun, not profit!
Warnings: None
Notes: This contains several images. They should work all right for screenreaders etc, but let me know if they don’t or if they aren’t displaying for some reason. If you find them hard to read just mouseover for text. Title inspired by Laundry: A Quantum Mechanical Approach, by Brian J. Reardon, which I don’t really understand but by which I am greatly amused. Beta by [livejournal.com profile] call_me_ishmael, thank you!
Summary: Sherlock loses his socks, takes a nap, eats some biscuits, and leaves a mystery unsolved.

Title: Certainty
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sally Donovan, Lestrade, John
Rating: PG
Word count: 1,131
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Not making any money here.
Warnings: Spoilers for The Reichenbach Fall
Notes: Written for the latest round of [livejournal.com profile] sherlock_remix, a remix of Regret, by [livejournal.com profile] yalublyutebya. Please read that too! Beta by [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre, britpick by [livejournal.com profile] bethia.
Summary: Every time someone dies, she thinks about the way they say that--"we have lost a good man." As though he’d been misplaced.

Title: Stay awake, don’t rest your head
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock, John
Rating: PG
Word count: 1,247
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work of the BBC’s Sherlock, which itself is a transformative work. Not making any money here.
Warnings: Sherlock is a bit of a creeper.
Notes: Written in one sitting. I don’t even know. And I borrowed the title from a Mary Poppins song. I really don’t know. Beta by [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre. Also available in podfic form, read by [livejournal.com profile] evil_whimsey.
Summary: The first time John falls asleep on the sofa while Sherlock is in the room, he realises exactly why no one has ever trusted him enough to want to sleep in his presence.

Title: Folding, Unfolding, Refolding
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Molly, Sherlock/John, Mrs. Hudson
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 3,965
Disclaimer: I don’t own Sherlock or get any money out of this endeavour.
Warnings: Some autopsy detail, discussion of death, grief, spoilers for Reichenbach.
Notes: ASiB made me want to write Molly. Reichenbach made me need to write Molly. Also I shamelessly sent my characters to a city I already know so I wouldn’t have to research it. Beta by [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre.
Summary: Molly feels different, afterwards. She feels like she’s lost something, some part of herself that was capable of having a crush on Sherlock that, though pathetic, was at least honest and simple.

It is Molly Hooper’s job... )
[identity profile] tartancravat.livejournal.com
Title: Fascination
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock, John, Irene Adler, Molly. Sherlock’s confusing relationships with all of them.
Rating: PG
Word count: 1,588
Disclaimer: I don’t own these characters or make money off them.
Warnings: Spoilers for A Scandal in Belgravia
Notes: This was kind of an experiment in a post ASiB world with my evolving headcanon, and as such it didn’t go at all the way I meant it to, and I’m not sure where exactly it ended up. Beta by [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre.
Summary: There are several reasons Sherlock finally agrees to have dinner with the Woman. His third reason is frustratingly indefinable, but it springs from a desire to follow fascination through to its close.

“Going out?” John asks... )

Title: History Is What You’ve Travelled On
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock/John
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 1,275
Disclaimer: I don’t own these characters or make money off them.
Warnings: Post-Reichenbach (no spoilers for S2), suggestion of torture and related injuries
Notes: I guess I had to write one last pre-series two fic. Beta credit to [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre, title from the poem by Michael Ondaatje.
Summary: John always has to remind himself that Sherlock has done things in the last three years that John still knows nothing about.

It's like time has been reset.... )

Title: Invisible London
Fandoms: Sherlock BBC
Characters/Pairings: John/Sherlock, OC
Rating: PG
Word count: 2,000
Disclaimer: I don’t own these characters or make money off them.
Warnings: None
Notes: Beta by [livejournal.com profile] miss_sabre. Inspired by Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities.
Summary: In a garden sit the aged John Watson and the young Jeremy. John diverts his nephew with stories of the London he encountered through Sherlock Holmes, and Jeremy listens, searching for truth in John’s Trading London, London and eyes, London and the dead, London and the sky....

Jeremy Knowles does not necessarily believe everything John Watson says... )
