I can rarely read fanfic when I'm writing my own, but this, I was even impatient for! Such a good piece--there is emotional intelligence to it, and some lovely turn of phrase. Both characters are very authentic, but your Sherlock makes me love him not as me, but as John--if that makes sense.:) Thank you for posting this!
